Now that we are past Labor Day, we are entering the homestretch of the 2024 election season. The Presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is a virtual tie with national polls currently showing Harris leading by around 3 to 4 points. With swing state polling being a little tighter and the inherent electoral college bias towards Republicans, the race can go either way.

A different story is brewing in the down-ballot congressional races, especially in the Senate. Here, Democratic candidates are outperforming Vice President Harris in almost every state. The hand-picked Trump candidates are flailing. Take Ohio for example — a state that has moved heavily in favor of Republicans over the last few election cycles. Incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown (D) was expected to be a loser this time around. Instead, the last five polls taken on the race show Brown leading his opponent, Bernie Moreno, by a minimum of four points. Moreno was endorsed by Donald Trump during his primary and beat his two opponents winning 50 percent of the vote.

Five swing states also have big Senate races this year — Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania…
