More Than Mean Tweets and Cheap Gas
A reminder on how disastrous the Trump Presidency was and how the next one will be worse

We are about seven months away from the 2024 Presidential election, and a rematch from 2020 is in store. America gets two candidates that nobody is thrilled about. Both candidates have depressed favorability numbers, and enthusiasm is low. Former President Donald Trump has a slight polling lead over President Joe Biden nationally and in swing states. This differs from four years ago when Biden had a comfortable lead throughout much of the race.
I have plenty of criticisms of the current President, but today, we need to focus on Donald Trump. Americans seem to have a short-term memory and forget what Trump’s Presidency was like. Often, his supporters now proclaim that the only fault of President Trump was his mean tweets, and they’ll take those back so they can save some money at the pump. But is it really that simple? Is our politics so warped that political ideology now boils down to gas prices?
